When starting a new job, your first six months are dedicated to learning your new role and responsibilities. This period presents an opportunity to leverage your “newbie” status, allowing you to approach your role with a fresh perspective.

Take advantage of being new, ask lots of questions, and ask for help when needed. When in doubt, just ask. Be curious. Don’t hold back!

Introduce yourself to everyone, and seek out trusted colleagues who are not only knowledgeable but also approachable. The ones that can help you learn the ropes, and the unwritten rules. Building these connections will only serve you.

Lastly, embrace opportunities for growth, skill development, and to support the team. Familiarize yourself with company values, processes, and organization. By doing so, you will quickly discover where your contributions will be felt and position yourself as a valuable team member.

With time and initiative, you’ll find everything become more familiar, rewarding, and meaningful in your new position. You’ve got this!
